Central Michigan University's Summer Activity Camp, offered by University
Recreation, introduces children 6-12 years old to the wonder of art, entertainment,
culture, nature, technology, and social recreation in a university
setting. Each session is facilitated by highly motivated and
energetic students, and includes fun-filled explorations, hands-on
activities, swimming, field trips and a small camper-to-counselor ratio (8
to 1) that provides lots of individualized attention.
During the nine years of
operation, SACamp has filled almost 3,000 camper's summers with fun and
excitement. Each of the seven sessions (themes) promise to be an
enjoyable experience. SACamp is housed right here in the Student
Activity Center (SAC), and most activities take place in or around our
facility. During the week, campers will swim every day, bowl, and
participate in arts & crafts. Furthermore, at various times
throughout the summer, the campers will go on field trips to such
locations as: Island Park, The Midland Center for the Arts, Fazoli's, The
Golf Center, and Deerfield Park.

SESSION 2: Who Wants to be a Superhero? June 16-20
One of last year’s most popular sessions is back! This week we will learn all about what it takes to be a hero. Besides Spiderman and Batman, there are plenty of other heroes right in our own community, and you can get to know them and what they do!
SESSION 3: Travel Through Time, June 23-27
Come join us this week as we take trips way beyond the camper’s memory lanes. Campers will have fun in activities based around what camp would be like in the time when their parents, grandparents and long lost ancestors were kids.
SESSION 4: Yankee Doodle Dandy, June 30-July 2
Get ready for the holiday weekend with this 3-day, Patriotic theme week. We will take a look at different events in our nation’s history, and close out the week with a good ole’ fashioned holiday BBQ.
